Hi,
We often hear the saying, ‘Smart work is better than hard work.’ the question is, is hard work redundant? Could you only do with working smart without working hard? Should you strike a balance between hard and smart work?
There is a correlation between hard work and smart work. Although people prefer smart work over hard work, in some tasks, there is no alternative to hard work. A few things need to be accomplished with diligence, endurance, and a lot of personal effort. On the other hand, smart work involves prioritizing, organizing, and delegating work. So, how do balance smart work and hard work? Here are suggestions on how to do so.
Set a timeline for each assignment
Before starting to work on any assignment, it is necessary to organize yourself. Make a plan on how you will execute the task and set a timeline to complete it. Defining the time limit is essential because it helps you to ascertain how much time you will have to invest in the work. Once you define the timeline you will be in a better position to monitor deliverables. Every task requires a combination of hard work and smart work.
Delegate work
The ultimate objective of doing hard work and smart work is to get more work done in less time. A task can be finished quicker if it is broken down and delegated to the right people. An effective way of achieving more is to reach out to people who can help with their respective expertise. It is a fact that both hard work and smart work are meaningful in their paths.
Plan your everyday tasks
A big part of doing smart work and hard work is time management skills. This comes from organizing your day to accommodate the tasks at hand. Every task demands a different kind of treatment. To complete some tasks you need to put in the personal effort whereas, in others, you can delegate. Thus, make it a habit to start your day with the organization of work and then begin working.
