Increasing personal visibility at work is imperative to career growth. Working remotely is unlike working in a regular office where you meet people in person. So, you have to adopt a different approach in order to gain visibility. Here are a couple of things you could do.
1. Keep up good performance at work
High performance is necessary for getting noticed by one and all. Make sure you meet deadlines and finish your work on time.
When you are the highest performing employee then your work will speak for you.
2. Volunteer to take extra projects
Be proactive in taking extra projects apart from your regular work. This will allow you to interact with people across departments.
Getting involved in other things help you gain visibility
3. Ask for regular feedback
Make an effort to reach out to your manager and ask for feedback. Take out time to do this regularly so that your manager is aware of the efforts you are putting in and is able to guide.
4. Get on Video calls
During video calls, keep your video on. It is not mandatory for people to keep their videos on during a meeting but keeping it on makes a difference. When people see you they are able to connect better.
Interaction is necessary to gain visibility and since you cannot meet people in person, connecting through video call will help you to interact better.
